Walkthrough

First visit

When you arrive at the West Arena, first climb the stairs on the left side and cut the rope. Then a large number of shadows will appear, and you must defeat them all. After defeating them, go to the entrance to the Idol Stairs at the bottom of the stairs on the left side.

Second visit

This time cut the rope at the stairs on the right side to pass through the waterway, pass through the entrance where the barricade in the Idol Stairs was, cross the bridge, and proceed to the stone statues at the end of the platforms that appear by magic.

Trivia

• According to a storyboard set in an unused version of this location (st4r) the floating platforms was originally just one that would slowly float across to the other side.
• Originally, as seen in a June 2000 it was planned that a cutscene with the Queen would occur in this location. She would appear on the other side of the gap while the boy and Yorda float across, opening the idol gates herself. After a brief argument with Yorda, she would then release an energy blast that would knock the boy off the platform, causing him to lose one of his horns much earlier in the game.
