Lakeside (湖畔 Kohan) is a song from Shadow of the Colossus and track 14 of the Roar of the Earth soundtrack. It was composed for the game by Kō Ōtani.

Final Version

1.

Its first usage is in the introduction cutscene for the arena of the 3rd colossus. Depending on the entrance that the player arrives from, the cutscene will have a different camera angle, with the same song.

2.

Its second and last usage is in the introduction cutscene for the arena of the 7th colossus.

Preview Version

1.

Its first usage is in the introduction cutscene for the arena of the 3rd colossus. Depending on the entrance that the player arrives from, the cutscene will have a different camera angle, with the same song.

Its second usage is in the introduction cutscene for the arena of the 7th colossus.

Its third and last usage is in the introduction "cutscene" for the arena of the 15th colossus. The camera angle changes but no cutscene plays, after the player moves a certain distance the camera will adjust itself to its normal position.

E3 Demo Version

1.

Its first usage is in the introduction cutscene for the arena of the 6th colossus (Knight, the 3rd colossus in the final game). It only plays if the player is coming from the entrance from "D2", and the camera goes through some walls of the area, likely because it's still the same cutscene from the early version of the location.

Its second usage is in the introduction cutscene for the arena of the 10th colossus (Leo, the 11th colossus in the final game).

Its third usage is in the introduction cutscene for the arena of the 11th colossus (Minotaur B, the 6th colossus in the final game).

Its fourth and last usage is in the introduction "cutscene" for the arena of the 15th colossus. The camera angle changes but no cutscene plays, after the player moves a certain distance the camera will adjust itself to its normal position.

Trivia

• This song is named after the arena of the 7th colossus.
• Despite not playing in-game, the E3 Demo has a cutscene for the 7th colossus' arena, but strangely, the song Lakeside doesn't play, with "Sanctuary" playing instead.
• In early gameplay footage from a Pre-E3 version of the game, Lakeside also played for the introduction cutscene of the 1st colossus' arena. Replaced in later versions with Sign of the Colossus.
