The Guards (or People of the Village as described by a developer in the artbook), are members of the village home to Lord Emon and presumably Wander, who appear alongside the shaman in Shadow of the Colossus, accompanying him to the Shrine of Worship. The total count consists of two crossbowmen, and three swordsmen.

Each member has a different and unique appearance, including the masks they wear. Below is a list of all of them.

Guard A is the most prominent out of all of them. He's always leading the pack and has a brown horse instead of a black one like all the other guards. Trivia[]
- The sword the Guards use has a unique model, and isn't available for use by Wander.
- The guards' clothes use the same texture as the Cloak of Force. Some of them are recolored however.
- Guard C has a sword during the cutscenes, however during gameplay, his sword is gone.
- In the E3 Demo the Guards had some more dialogue. For example, one of them says "No problems, sir." when arriving at the Shrine of Worship's door.
- It isn't shown in the final game due to the camera shots used, but in the E3 Demo, Guard B can be seen hesitating multiple times before shooting Wander, constantly looking over to Emon.
- The guards' faces in the original game have unique models and textures, while in the PS4 remake, they all have the same face model.
