Grotesque Figures (異形の者達 Igyō no Monotachi) is a song from Shadow of the Colossus and track 7 of the Roar of the Earth soundtrack. It was composed for the game by Kō Ōtani.

Final Version

1.

Its first usage is in the battle against the 1st colossus. It will switch to The Opened Way if the player stabs the back of its left leg twice, making it kneel.

2.

Its second and final usage is in the battle against the the 6th colossus. It will switch to Revived Power when climbing it.

Its first usage is in the battle against the 1st colossus. It will switch to The Opened Way if the player stabs the back of its left leg twice, making it kneel.

2.

Its second usage is in the battle against the 3rd colossus. It will switch to The Opened Way when it hits the central plate with its sword, shattering its armor.

Its third usage is in the battle against the the 6th colossus. It will switch to The Opened Way when climbing it.

Its fourth and final usage is in the battle against the the 15th colossus. It will switch to The Opened Way when climbing it after making it drop its sword.

Trivia

• Grotesque Figures was made to accompany the song "The Opened Way". In the files, Grotesque Figures is named M12P / pinch_12 and The Opened Way is M12B / battle_12.
• This song is heard playing in the battle against the early version of the 2nd colossus when it still had stone eyes as seen in old footage.
• This is one of five songs with the "pinch" name in the AdpcmFileDEFAULT sheet, the others are: A Violent Encounter, Liberated Guardian, In Awe of the Power and Gatekeeper of the Castle Ruins.
