This building is an arena, and once inside, the door is closed and you cannot get out. Take the ladder with Yorda to the upper platform. After she climbs it, shadows will appear, so fight them off first. After everything is settled down, sit on the sofa to save your game. There are two entrances to the next room, one on the left and one on the right, but the door to the left is still closed, so you can only go to the right. After entering the right room with Yorda, go down the ladder and climb up the column.
Second visit[]
When you return to the arena and pick up the fallen sword, a cage will appear and you will be locked in, but here you can escape by climbing the platforms on either side and cutting the ropes on the gears. The sword obtained here has a much higher attack power than the wooden stick, and is a very reassuring weapon in the fight against the shadows. It will also be needed to cut ropes in the future. After escaping from the fence, cut the rope at the top of the stairs on the left to open the door. After that, go with Yorda to the room on the left through the opened entrance.
Third visit[]
Go through the bridge you have descended from and proceed to the upper floor of the arena. Cross the magical platforms that appear one after another, break the seal of the stone statues, and pull the lever at the far left to rotate the round table directly below you. This completes everything that needs to be done in this building. To light the fire, you must switch from the sword to the wooden stick, but remember to take the sword with you when you leave this building.
According to an old stage layout chart, a battle with a mini-boss was planned to happen in this stage (st04c). A concept art of "Duel Arena R" demonstrates this, and describes it as a sudden battle; taking place behind the cage featured in the area. An idol handle was hidden beneath the boss.
