The Dynamite Room (ダイナマイト倉庫 meaning Dynamite Warehouse) is an unused location from ICO.
Description[]
The room was a warehouse where a dynamite was kept, and it also included a secret torture chamber. The dynamite would likely serve the same purpose as the bombs in the final game; to blow up the pillar holding the broken bridge in the Chandelier stage.
Different placements of the Dynamite Room were considered at different points in development. One of its original locations during the era when the game was still being developed for the PlayStation 1, as well as early on during the PlayStation 2 Era, was that of being placed next to st07a (Chandelier) and under st01b (Dark Room). Another location considered was under Chandelier.[1]

The PS2 version of the area can be glimpsed in a trailer from the Playstation Underground 4.2 disc, looking almost exactly the same as the Lightwave3D renders. In the clip, Ico helps Yorda up the ledge leading to the secret torture room after climbing onto a box, which was presumably dropped from Dark Room, as a box was placed on it at the same period of time.[2]
Trivia[]
- An early chart details that a "Torture Room" was once considered to be connected to st05b, and st08a. However, it's unknown if it refers to this same stage.
