Walkthrough

First visit

Passing through the cliff with water flowing, climb up the ladder and follow the pathway of planks. On the way, there is a place where the planks are missing, so help Yorda as you go, until you reach the outside.

Second visit

When you enter the cave after the area with the cages, you will see a box and a lever in front of you. First, pull down the lever to drop the chain. Next, drop the box into the water on the left side. Then, Ico also enters the water, grabs the box, and pulls it to the ladder on the other side. From there, using the box as a platform, he jumps and grabs onto the ladder, then pulls down the lever on top to open the sluice gate. Then, he goes inside of it together with the box. Here, move the box directly under the chain you just hung down.

Climbing up the chain, you will see a cart with a small cog. Then the cogwheel with a stick on the lower left side starts to turn. Hold on to the stick and you will be able to go up the cogwheel. Next, go along the pipe toward the cliff and climb up the vertical pipe at the tower-like place. From here, jump to the chain at the back.

After crossing the two chains, grab onto the cogwheel again and move to the platform above it. This time, jump onto the cog that rotates sideways from here. The part of the cog that has lost its sideways rotation is unclimbable, so jump to the dented part at the right moment. If you fail and fall down, there is a ladder on the far left, so you can climb up the ladder and jump onto the cogwheel.
