Black Blood (黒い血 Kuroi Chi) is a song from Shadow of the Colossus and track 4 of the Roar of the Earth soundtrack. It was composed for the game by Kō Ōtani.

Uses

1.

Its first usage is in the introduction cutscene after Wander arrives at the temple and places Mono on the altar. It plays as soon as shadows come out of the ground and doesn't stop until Wander shines the Ancient Sword at the shadows, desintegrating them.

2.

Its second usage is in the battle against the 8th colossus. It plays right after the colossus' introduction cutscene and only stops when the player is noticed by the boss, not playing again afterwards.

3.

Its third and final usage is in the ending cutscene. It plays as soon as Wander is stabbed by one of the guards and black blood starts gushing out of its wound. It stops when Wander manages to get up and starts to pull out the sword from his chest.

Trivia

• In the Preview and earlier versions of the game, Black Blood doesn't play on the 8th colossus' battle. Liberated Guardian just plays right away.
• There exists an alternate version of Black Blood on the files of the Preview and earlier versions of the game named "fear_30_se". The song is the same save for some extra sound effects that play in some moments. It never plays in-game.
